PEOPLE
The Project LEIT Team is dedicated to advancing research in the fields of catalysis and nanotechnology. Our team comprises leading experts and passionate collaborators who work together to drive innovation and achieve groundbreaking results.
Principal Investigator
Prof. Dr. Clivia M. Sotomayor Torres
Clivia is the PI of the project LEIT, contributing knowledge of several years of expertise in phonon physics, optical spectroscopy and nanoscale thermal transport.
Team at INL
Collaborations are maintained through regular online meetings and face-to-face discussions. All four collaborators are invited to our annual progress meetings and project workshops. While they do not receive financial support from the project, travel and subsistence costs for attending the formal annual LEIT project progress meetings in Bellaterra (Barcelona) are covered if needed. Otherwise, these collaborations incur no cost to the ERC grant.

Dr. Yani CHEN
Dr. Yani received her Ph.D. from the University of Grenoble Alpes in 2016, and her work was done in the NEEL Institute/CNRS(France). After graduating with her Ph.D., she worked as a postdoctoral fellow and associate researcher at Shenzhen University (China). She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Clivia Sotomayor´s group. Her research interests include novel low-dimensional materials and devices, Raman and Brillouin scattering, thermal transport, etc.
-
Dr. Manjunath Balagopalan
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Nanophononics Group, International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), Braga, Portugal. He will be involved in understanding the lattice dynamics of the materials used in the LEIT project.
-
Dr. Omid Reza Ranjbar-Naeini
Dr Omid Reza Ranjbar-Naeini joined the P2N as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Clivia M. Sotomayor Torres at the ICN2 in Barcelona before joining INL, Braga. He works on the LEIT project, which aims to showcase phonons as information carriers with typical ultralow energies of a fraction of a meV. His role primarily involves experimentally characterising RF coherent phonon coupling to topological interface waveguides designed for hypersonic frequencies and optically detecting the phonons to investigate low-loss propagation along the designed interface.
